Wag & Wine a new event in Spring 2021. We will be combining our love of community (we have several wonderful vineyards in the area), and the amazing work of our canine community to serve the blind in this event that will promote fundraising for Leader Dogs for the Blind and Guiding Eyes dogs. Look for details to come.
Benefit Breakfast - Sometimes, within our community, there is a family with an extraordinary health situation. We work with Trinity United Church of Christ to provide an opportunity to come together to help that family.
Cash Bingo – In the early Spring of each year, we host a Cash Bingo that raises funds to assist with our projects. We invite everyone to come out to have fun and to help make a difference in our community.
*Bridge-to-Bridge-to-Bridge Bike Tour Fundraiser - Cancelled for 2020. We are planning a bike ride that encompasses all three of the covered bridges in our area as we celebrate the uniqueness of our area and the ability to help others. The funds raised will go to a specific cause annually. The event will be held in conjunction with our Make A Difference Day project/cause.
Christmas Ornament –For a number of years, we have worked with the Rebecca Pearl Gallery to develop a series of Christmas ornaments based on Rebecca’s artwork featuring scenes of Thurmont. These tend to sell out so reserve yours early.
*Christmas Extravaganza – Cancelled for 2020 - Lions Doug Favorite and Don Keeney do extreme Christmas decorating each tree with hundreds of trees inside and out. Tour their house and help with a Christmas gift to those who benefit from the entrance fee. Those who have received funding from this program include: Operation Second Chance, MD Patriot Guard, Sgt. Lawrence Everhart Sons of the American Revolution, LCIF, LVRF and more. If you aren’t in the Christmas spirit when you arrive, you will be when you leave.
*Colorfest Food Booth – Cancelled for 2020 - The Thurmont Lions staff a popular food booth at the mouth of the Community Park at the annual Colorfest; featuring shrimp, crab cakes, corn dogs and more. We are always looking for help to staff our booth.
*Community Show Food Booth – Cancelled for 2020 - During the Thurmont community’s annual Community Show, we staff a food booth for the weekend. We feature breakfast, lunch and dinner in the agricultural area. Come out and see the best Thurmont has to offer and get a cinnamon bun, fresh cut French fries and more.
Easter Egg Fundraiser – One of our newer fundraisers, we get wooden Easter Eggs from the same supplier of the White House Easter Egg Roll. These Easter Eggs feature a community design on them. Hang them, put them in a basket or on a stand – Easter is always in season with one of these eggs. These eggs will feature a different community design each year
Food Trailer – we have a food trailer and can provide concessions for community events, estate auctions or more.
